This lightweight structure was built in the first playground in the community of El Suquité in Escuintla, with the intention of not only providing a recreational space for young people, but also to change the community’s mentality towards natural materials such as bamboo. The structure is anchored to a single concrete foundation base and the excellent physical-mechanical properties of bamboo allow for an unconventional but strong and durable form.
