This design was created as a variation of some of CASSA’s basic models of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen – with the added element of a mezzanine, as an additional living or study area, increasing the available space without too much of an increase in cost. It has ample natural lighting. It’s designed to be built with bamboo, stuccoed on the outside and varnished on the inside. The construction systems used at CASSA can be combined in different ways, always integrating natural building materials depending on the client wishes and the availability of local materials. Like every CASSA home, it integrates all elements of sustainability: rainwater capture, water cistern for storage, pump for redistribution inside the house, solar panels, LED lighting, efficient smokeless stove, gray water separation and reutilization in a family garden, and an underground black water treatment system.
