This little space tries to imitate its neighbours, the volcanoes in the mountains of Alotenango. It elevates in a cone-shape and its vertical design creates ample and cozy spaces within its tiny construction area. The interior is made up of one bedroom, one bathroom and a small attic that can easily be used for meditation, reading or star gazing. It utilizes natural materials such as bamboo and stone, that help the construction integrate with nature, and reduce its environmental footprint. Like every CASSA home, it integrates all elements of sustainability: rainwater capture, water cistern for storage, pump for redistribution inside the house, solar panels that produce clean and free electricity, LED lighting, gray water separation and reutilization in a family garden, and an underground black water treatment system.
