This project revived an old adobe home that had been left in abandon. It was impressive to see how some of the adobe blocks were still intact after so many years and were able to be reutilized in the new build. CASSA took maximum advantge of existing resources, using old adobes to build new walls, refurbishing old clay tiles for the facade and rejuvenating the beautiful granite floor. The internal walls, just like exterior facade decorations were made with bamboo. Like all CASSA homes, it has the integration of all the services with elements of sustainability; rainwater harvesting, water cistern for storage, pump for redistribution inside the house, solar panels, LED lighting, efficient stove, separation of gray and black water, family garden fed by gray water and an underground black-water treatment system.
